The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has completed the tender procedure of 62 surface parking lots that will become operational in the next two weeks.
Following a new parking policy, it will become mandatory for parking attendants to give parking slips using hand-held devices.
The ticket will clearly mention the duration for which the vehicle is parked and the payable parking charge --- meaning lesser harassment for the motorists.
Moreover, all parking lots would have CCTV cameras which will ensure better monitoring besides keeping a check on illegal parking by the attendants.
"The tendering process has been completed. The parking lots with all the new features in place are likely to become operational in a fortnight," said a senior official.
Violation of the clauses would invite monetary punishment and cancellation of licence after five violations.
