The crime branch of Delhi Police is closing-in on three more doctors in connection with the leak of post-graduate medical entrance test papers conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in January.

The crime branch of Delhi Police is closing-in on three more doctors in connection with the leak of post-graduate medical entrance test papers conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in January. Police have recovered the certificates of the doctors from Mohit Choudhary, an accused, and have managed to trace them.

Raids were conducted in areas of Madhya Pradesh, Pune and Raipur last week, but the police failed to nab the doctors. “We have now issued a notice asking them to appear before the crime branch. They will be arrested once we collect evidence against them,” said a senior police official.

The three doctors had appeared for the exam the day the racket was busted, said Sanjay Bhatia, additional DCP (crime). “We had arrested five persons that day, while two doctors were arrested later. These three are likely to be involved in the racket as their certificates were recovered from Choudhary,” said Bhatia.

Sources said Choudhary used to take the certificates of doctors as security and would return the documents to them after receiving money. The two doctors, arrested later, were traced with the help of certificates only.

Police said the mastermind of the racket, Ravi Atri, is still at large and various teams are working to nab him.

Police said the gang used to charge R25-35 lakh from aspirants. It used a software to email the images of the question paper clicked by two MBAs, posing as PG aspirants. Police said it was Chaudhary who arranged the candidates for the exam.

So far, seven people have been arrested, including three doctors.
