Ola Cabs has landed in controversy after one of its drivers was charged for allegedly misbehaving with a female passenger and her daughter in New Delhi.

The driver, Praveen Kumar, was booked for outraging a woman’s modesty, threatening and violating a public order. He was, however, granted bail later.

A Delhi court, on Tuesday, sentenced Uber cab driver Shiv Kumar Yadav to life imprisonment for raping a woman in his taxi 11 months ago, observing that his acts were “against the society” and should be dealt with an “iron hand”.

Besides the jail term, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 21,000 on Yadav, which shall go to the victim as compensation.
