One more Bunty gang member held

The Delhi Police detained one more associate of Bunty for investigations into the serial shootings case, same gang could also be involved in the July 7 Kalkaji robbery, police said, HT reports.

The south district police on Friday detained one more associate of Omprakash alias Bunty for investigations into the serial shootings case. Police said that the same gang could also be involved in the July 7 Kalkaji robbery. If that is established, Bunty stands involved in three murders, two attempts to murder and a robbery in south Delhi within a week’s time from July 7.

On July 7, five motorcycle-borne robbers had barged into an electronics showroom in Kalkaji and robbed the people inside at gunpoint. All the accused were unmasked.

“The Kalkaji shopkeepers gave us a description of the robbers. They match with that of a few members of the Bunty gang,” said a senior police officer.

Police said that the man who was detained on Friday is a key member of the Bunty gang. “He masterminded a robbery in Hauz Khas last year along with Bunty,” said the officer.
