Though DDA received a large number of registrations from property owners in the first week since the scheme's launch, few have turned into actual applications. And of late, people have been shying away from it. As the online system requires applicants to scan and upload documents on the DDA website, its improper use has resulted in glitches and delays.

"Certain applications are taking more time than expected and there has not been much response to the online process though it is convenient and fast," said a DDA statement.

Of the 270 registrations on its website, DDA received just 33 applications online. Of that, only four could processed within the stipulated time of 15 days.

"The documents, being scanned and uploaded by the applicants, at times are not properly scanned not legible. Therefore it is advised that all the documents should be properly scanned and in case of legal pages, both sides of the document should be scanned," the statement said.
