PM calls on President, discusses Parliament session

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday called on President Pratibha Patil and discussed matters relating to the ongoing Parliament session, which has been marred by frequent disruptions over the issue of corruption.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday called on President Pratibha Patil and discussed matters relating to the ongoing Parliament session, which has been marred by frequent disruptions over the issue of corruption.

The meeting lasted for 30 minutes during which the two leaders discussed the ongoing session of Parliament, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said.

The meeting assumes significance amid frequent disruptions by the BJP over the issue of corruption especially in connection with Commonwealth Games projects and the proposed fast by Anna Hazare on lokpal bill.

They also discussed various other issues of national and international importance, the spokesperson said.
