The meeting lasted for about half-an-hour, said a communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"The two leaders discussed about the ongoing session of parliament, current situation of Jammu and Kashmir and issues relating to agriculture, including dry land farming," it said.

According to the statement, the two leaders also discussed internal security matters and various other issues of national and international importance.

The meeting comes a day after the prime minister made his first public comments on the recent trouble in the Kashmir Valley that has left over 50 people dead, mostly in firing by security forces, since mid-June.
