The prime minister also briefed her on his meeting with US President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the summit in the first substantive meeting between the two leaders.

An official spokesperson of the Rashtrapati Bhavan said both Singh and Patil also discussed other issues of national and international importance during their 45-minute meeting.
