After the Delhi Government terminated the services of the school principal of the Khajoori Khas school where five students died in a stampede on September 10, it is now time for the errant school staff to face police action.

Police sources said some teachers and the principal were also facing imminent arrest.
The government has also suspended the principal-in-charge of the girls' school and transferred the zonal deputy director and six teachers.
“We have recorded the statement of 40 people including students present in the school premises on the day of the incident,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to media.
“Teachers and the school staff acted in a negligent manner, which led to the stampede," said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.
Police had registered a case of death due to negligence and also added Section 287 IPC (negligent conduct with respect to machinery).
As it rained heavily on September 10—the day of the incident—the public address system was not functioning properly.
"The teacher who was making the announcement on the loudspeaker was barely audible to the students, ” said the officer.
