President returns home after Belgium, Turkey visit

President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday returned from Belgium and Turkey, during which he held bilateral talks with the two countries on various issues including terrorism.

During his three-day visit to Brussels, capital of Belgium, Mukherjee discussed various issues of bilateral importance, including increasing of trade between the two countries.

During his visit to Istanbul and Ankara, the President sought Turkey's cooperation for India's bid for a permanent membership to nuclear suppliers group (NSG).

During his talks the President also discussed the menace of terrorism.

During his six-day long visit, several MoUs were signed between Indian universities and universities of Belgium and Turkey.

The Indian Universities included Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia and University of Hyderabad.
