The MCD on Thursday extended till February 28 the last date of its ongoing scheme for settlement of ex-parte property tax cases under the old rateable value method of assessment.

The scheme provides waiver of interest and penalty amount subject to up-to-date payment of property tax.

"The scheme will be limited only to settlement of ex-parte assessments under the RV system. Applications for settlement will be received along with admitted tax on self-computed basis, after the publication of a public notice and up to February 28," an MCD official said.
