Protest at power minister's door

Members of Greenpeace, protesting Delhi’s zero performance in meeting renewable energy targets, on Wednesday demanded that power minister Haroon Yusuf enforce a policy on renewable energy soon.

Members of Greenpeace, protesting Delhi’s zero performance in meeting renewable energy targets, on Wednesday demanded that power minister Haroon Yusuf enforce a policy on renewable energy soon.

A Greenpeace spokesperson said all activists taking part in the protest carried solar panels which they had placed at the entrance.

He claimed the minister met the protesters but was non-committal on giving a timeline for policy on renewables. He did, however, agree to forward the Greenpeace report Greenpeace report, “Powering Ahead with Renewables: Leaders and Laggards” to Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission for further action.
