Besides bolstering the ongoing Youth Congress membership drive in Jammu and Kashmir during his two-day visit from September 26, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has another task at hand—inculcating a sense of discipline among the party's ‘young turks' in the state.

Top Youth Congress leaders are engaged in an open slugfest over the leadership issue and the functioning of the organisation in the state.
Youth Congress general secretary Viqar Rasool has lashed out at outgoing state Youth Congress president Shoaib Lone for his "failure to run the organisation in an effective manner".
"Lone has been a failure. He was given an opportunity to strengthen the Youth Congress in the state but he was unable to deliver," Rasool told HT.
He also took exception to Lone, issuing statements to the media in the name of state Youth Congress chief when he ceased to be the president. But Lone has decided to raise the matter with Gandhi on Monday. "I will give the cuttings carrying Viqar's statement to Rahulji."
