A 44-year-old man was arrested in Delhi on Friday on charges of murdering his minor son in Kota city of Rajasthan, police said.

Rajender was absconding from Kota after killing his 17-year-old son Pawan by setting him on fire. He was arrested from a park in Mangolpuri area of Delhi.

A senior police officer said a police team were patrolling the area during night when they found Rajender hiding from the police.

"He was hiding and waiting for a suitable time to go to a relative's house. The man was arrested on suspicion. During interrogation, he revealed that he was wanted in a murder case," the officer said.

The officer said Rajender was alcoholic and killed his son after the teenager raised objections to his lifestyle. Rajender set Pawan on fire while he was asleep.
