Rajni Kumar conferred with prestigious award in South Africa

Rajni Kumar, chairperson of the Springdales Education Society and founder of Springdales Schools, recently returned from Pretoria after being conferred with the National Order of the Companions of OR Tambo (Silver) by the South African President Jacob S. Zuma.

Rajni Kumar, chairperson of the Springdales Education Society and founder of Springdales Schools, recently returned from Pretoria after being conferred with the National Order of the Companions of OR Tambo (Silver) by the South African President Jacob S. Zuma. The order was for advancing the fight against apartheid in India and for her robust contribution to the education curricula of the African National Congress (ANC) freedom fighters in Tanzania. The order is bestowed on foreign nationals who have pursued the eternal values of selflessness, love of freedom and equality.

The Venkateshwar Global School, Rohini, celebrated its Annual Day recently. Mr Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC, was the Chief Guest. The function commenced with the lamp lighting by the chief guest and Chairman Rajiv Solanki, followed by a Sufi rendition was the curtain raiser and the highlight of the event was the fashion show which saw young students displaying changing styles in attires over the years. The theme of the evening, Navras-The Colours of Emotions, was a grand musical presentation of the nine emotional states affecting the body and mind of man. Principal Kavita Soni presented a synopsis of the school’s achievements over the past scholastic year.

Nine budding scientists of Kamal Public School, Vikas Puri, participated in the Jawaharlal Nehru Zonal Science Exhibition ‘Conservation of Energy’. Groups of students made apt models to showcase the different aspects of conservation of energy. Class XII students Kashifa and Pooja Sangwan secured the third position and qualified for the Centre Level Competition. All students were presented with a participation certificate for excellence shown.

S Rawat presented the school's annual report. The Chief Guest congratulated the students and the staff for their performance in diversified arenas and a spectacular show.
