Rakesh Kacker to be new food processing secretary

Rakesh Kacker has been appointed as the new secretary for the Ministry of Food Processing Industries with effect from July 1.

Kacker, who is presently the special secretary in the department of consumer affairs, will replace Ashok Sinha who is retiring on June 30, according to an official notification.

Meanwhile, K Jose Cyriac has been appointed as the secretary of department of chemicals and petro-chemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers. The post was vacant after the retirement of M Raman.

Cyriac, an IAS officer from the 1977 batch, is presently special secretary in the department of revenue.
