Scooterist hit by tempo dies

A man lost his life when his scooter was hit by a speeding Tata 407 tempo in north Delhi’s Subzi Mandi area on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the accident took place around 9.30am on Roshanara road.

The deceased, identified as Sanjay Aggarwal, is a resident of Shakti Nagar in north Delhi and was returning home after night duty when the accident took place, the police said.

The impact of the hit was such that the scooter was badly damaged and Aggarwal sustained severe injuries. The errant tempo driver escaped from the spot with his vehicle immediately after the accident.

“Aggarwal was rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead. The family of the victim was informed about the accident and the body was handed over to them after post mortem examination,” said a police officer.
