The power supply to the airport failed at around 11 pm, which affected the computer systems at the airport. Passengers of three different international flights that had arrived from Vienna, Manila and Bangkok had to spend almost an extra half an hour at the immigration counters after the computers stopped working.

“Things went smoothly until we reached the immigration counters,” said Rita Kumar (name changed on request), who had arrived in an Austrian Airlines flight.

“There were 15 immigration counters and computer system and none of them were working. We were wondering what happened when an official informed us that the system was down,” she said.

“There was again a power supply problem on Friday night and flight operations were slightly affected,” said the official of an international airline who didn’t wished to be named. A spokesman of the airport developer Delhi International Airport Ltd. said the problem due to power failure remained only for 20 minutes and three flights had arrived at that time.
