The regional offices of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security have put the Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram airports on high alert and asked them to heighten security measures, official sources said today.

Special instruction have also been given to airlines on cargo and baggage handling at these airports.

They have been also asked to check details of senders, especially those sending parcel wrapped in paper.

With airports being on terror list, the security at all major airports are already been tightened by the CISF, which is responsible for the security at those places.

A "crude bomb like object" containing gunpowder was found from the cargo section of a Kingfisher flight from Bangalore which had 31 people on board after it landed at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport yesterday.
