Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday called a meeting of Education Minister, Secretary (Education) and Director (Education) to discuss the issue of fee hikes in public schools of Delhi.

The meeting was called in view of the agitation and protests by parents across the capital. Dikshit reiterated that the education of children and the interest of teachers were of immense importance for her government.
Director (Education) Chandrabhushan Kumar and Secretary (Education) Rina Ray informed Dikshit of the various steps taken to ensure that the tuition fee hike did not exceed Rs 500 per month. They also presented a five-tier slab - ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 500 — created for the guidance of school managements and parent-teacher associations.
The government has also constituted a grievances redressal committee headed by Kumar, they said. Kumar said the committee had received 75 representations till date. Complaints were being looked into and would be resolved before the next session.
The Delhi government has invited all parents to come forward with grievances and report anomalies.
