West Delhi remained the worst-affected with Najafgarh municipal zone and West zone reporting 15 cases each, followed by Karol Bagh and city zones (seven each), Shahdara North and South zones (six each).

"Delhi has reported 92 cases of dengue this year. No dengue death has been confirmed," Municipal Health Officer, MCD, N K Yadav told a meeting of the MCD Standing Committee.

A case of suspected dengue death was reported from Delhi Cantonment area on Tuesday but tests are yet to be conducted to confirm it.

Yadav said the civic body was taking all possible measures, including checking of premises for mosquito breeding, to prevent the spread of the disease.

MCD Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta directed the officials to ask domestic breeding checkers to give daily reports. "They should take signatures of houseowners to prove that they have actually carried out the checking," he said.

There is a need to fix accountability, Gupta said.
