Gandhi will be addressing the meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) on Monday, the last day of the winter session that saw longest ever shutdown of Parliament by Opposition demanding Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G Spectrum issue.

This will be the CPP's first meeting in the winter session.

This will also be the first interaction between Gandhi and party MPs after the Bihar assembly polls in which the party received a drubbing despite of Rahul Gandhi playing a major role in campaigning.

The recent days have seen Gandhi grappling with one controversy after another including Commonwealth Games mess and the Adarsh Housing scam, which saw a change of guard in Maharashtra and the party showing the door to CPP Secretary Suresh Kalmadi, who is the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the CWG.
