Tension gripped a part of Agra city on Monday evening after members of two communities threw stones at each other. Timely police action brought the situation under control.

A heavy police force has been deployed, along with the Provincial Armed Constabulary.

DIG (Agra) Vijay Singh Meena and SSP (Agra) Shalab Mathur reached the spot.

“The situation was swiftly controlled before it could aggravate and the required force has been deployed,” Meena said.

SP (city) Pawan Kumar said, “The reason for the clash is not very clear and efforts are being made to ease the tension.”
