The police said the boy hanged himself with the help of his school uniform belt at his house.

According to police, the incident took place around 1:10 p.m. in Vishwas Nagar area of Farsh Bazar.

The deceased, Golu, was found dead by his sister.

“Golu’s parents reportedly told the police that he returned home after playing at a nearby park and then straight went into the toilet, where he hanged himself. Golu's elder sister discovered his body and informed other members of the family, who called the police,” said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

The officer further stated that Golu used his school's uniform's fabric belt to make a noose. He tied the end of the belt from the grill of the window and hanged himself.

Golu was studying in a nearby government school and had two sisters and two brothers. His father, Titu Kumar, is a furniture maker.

“The exact motive behind the incident is still not clear. No suicide note was found from the spot,” added the police officer.
