Suncity school, Gurgaon launches ‘Arpan’

The Suncity School,Gurgaon launched a student-led endeavour called 'Arpan', an effort to make a difference to the lives of the under-privileged children. The school has taken the initiative to educate the 'Arpan' students and teach them lessons beyond the books.

The function held to launch Arpan was graced by the guests Ankit Goel , Vice-Chairman of Suncity School , Mansi Goel , Anupama Datta (Director, Policy Research & Development, Helpage India) and Col. J.C. Jain and R.C. Sharma from the senior citizens association.

The chief guests escorted by the principal, Rupa Chakravarty, participated in the lamp lighting ceremony. The Arpan students sang 'Teri hai Zameen', followed by a panel discussion on the topic, 'Are social values eroding in the 21st century?'. Anupama Datta, the chief guest, distributed study material, hygiene kit, and clothes to the Arpan students, followed by an award giving ceremony. The function concluded with the unveiling of the 'ARPAN' logo by Ankit Goel and Mansi Goel.

Two students of Amity International School, Vasundhara, Sector-6 were sent to Japan under the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange of Students and Youth (JENESYS). Snehil Bindal and Chhavi Garg were shortlisted from 109 students of India to visit Japan to foster the growing relations between the two Asian giants. They met the Japanese Foreign Minister and also visited a high school to know more about the educational system of the country. Principal, Sunila Athley complimented the students on their return.
