A 16-year-old girl has alleged that two men raped her last week, recorded the heinous act on their mobile phones, and were blackmailing her.

In her complaint to the police on Sunday evening, the victim, who lives in north Delhi's Katra Nanak Chand area, said the accused dragged her into a Maruti van in the Sabzi Mandi area on June 27 and raped her. A medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape.

The police have arrested one of the accused, Nitin, 23, who she has named in the FIR.

A case of kidnapping and rape has been registered against Nitin, who happens to be the victim's friend's brother, the police said.

The girl, a class 11 student, told the police that she was returning from a coaching institute around 5pm when she was intercepted by the three men.

After she was dumped around 11pm, the victim returned home, but did not tell anyone about the incident.

On Sunday morning she told her sister about the incident who then informed her parents. They then urged her to file a complaint.

"There were no bruises on the victim's body," said Sudhir Yadav, joint commissioner of police, northern range. The police have not found any video clip or MMS either.

"Efforts are on to apprehend the other accused who are absconding. Their interrogation might help us establish this allegation of an MMS clip," a senior police officer said on condition of anonymity.
