While one of them, identified as Sonu, 24, was overpowered by a police patrol and locals while he was fleeing after committing the crime, the other two were arrested from their hideout in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar.

They have been identified as Pramod Pal, 29, and Devi Ram alias Deva, 25.

A Mahindra Scorpio used during the robbery was recovered along with the booty and a country-made pistol.

Police said the Scorpio belongs to the owner of a guesthouse. Pramod was his driver. It was Pramod who had arranged the vehicle without informing his employer.

Deva reportedly works as a cook in the same guest house.

Devesh Chandra Srivastava, additional CP (central) said, four armed robbers had appeared at the plywood shop of Kishori Lal, the victim, and asked Lal to hand over the cash to them.
