Top ED officer seeks removal from 2G probe

After more than 50 complaints filed against him at various levels, Enforcement Directorate (ED) assistant director Rajeshwar Singh does not want to probe the 2G spectrum scam case. Singh sent a letter to the ED headquarter, saying he wanted to pull out of the probe.

According to sources, Singh in his letter of June 7 has alleged that all the complaints filed against were frivolous. He has also asked permission from the ED to lodge FIRs against complainants for preparing forged documents about him.

Singh had also informed the SC about his alleged harassment and the matter posted for further hearing on August 4.

According to sources, the allegation levelled against Singh range from the huge spending on his child's birthday to his marriage and alleged possession of more than 86 telephone connections in the last 10 years.
