A Trinamool Congress minister of parliament (MP) was stopped at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in the Capital allegedly with R57 lakh but was later allowed to go.

Kanwar Deep Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand and owner of Alchemist Group, was stopped after CISF officials found that he was carrying a large amount of money. He was on his way to Guwahati.
The CISF officials informed the Air Intelligence Unit of the I-T department, who found that he was carrying R57 lakh. Singh was accompanied by seven others in a private plane. He was allowed to go after questioning, CISF said, adding, the money belonged to his company.
The airport officials have stepped up checking in airport after Bureau of Civil Aviation has instructed them to keep a strict vigil on the movement of cash in the backdrop of Assembly elections.
