DCP (crime) Sanjay Kumar Jain said Amit Verma, 27, and Preetam Singh, 64, were arrested one after the other based on a specific input on June 1.

"We received specific information that Verma was manufacturing duplicate logos of Bajaj Automobiles in central Delhi's Paharganj. A raid was conducted and several pouches, packets and holograms bearing the registered trademark of the said company were recovered," said DCP Jain.

During sustained interrogation, police claimed, Verma disclosed that he had taken to manufacturing fake holograms because he was in dire need of money and used to supply them to Preetam Singh, who operates from Karol Bagh's Nai Wala area.

"At the instance of Amit Verma, a raid was conducted at Singh's shop and one roll of stickers with MRP printed on it, 80 packets of oil seals (each packet containing 10 oil seals), 99 small empty pouches of Bajaj Auto Ltd., 1,400 empty big pouches of Bajaj Auto Ltd. were recovered from his shop," said DCP Jain.

"The duo disclosed that they had taken to the business given the heavy demand for Bajaj spare parts in the market and earning a larger profit by selling duplicate spare parts," the DCP added.
