Two suspected Maoists, who may have participated in the May 25 Chhattisgarh massacre have been arrested by Odisha police.

“Preliminary interrogation reveals the suspects were assigned supply and sentry duty and were not part of the assault party. We have informed the NIA about the arrest as they are probing the attack,” said Odisha police DG Prakash Mishra.
The suspects — Ora Madhi and Kasa Kunjami —were picked up from the Malkangiri district.
Sources said the suspects didn’t seem to be hardcore Maoists and had limited role in the attack.
One of them just heard shots and was told to keep people away from the attack site by the Maoists handlers.
Maoists on May 25 killed senior Congress leader Mahendra Karma, state Congress chief Nandlal Patel and his son Dinesh and injured former Union Minister VC Shukla. Shukla later succumbed to his injuries.
