The Coal Ministry Thursday said it has approved fuel supply for two upcoming power projects in Rajasthan with an estimated investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
"The ministry has approved the long-term coal linkages for the Chabra extension power plant (1,320mw) and the Kalisindh power unit (1,200mw)," Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said in New Delhi.
Ministry officials said the two projects are likely to entail a gross investment of over Rs 10,000 crore.
Besides these two utilities, Jaiswal assured Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot that coal linkages may soon be granted to two other mega power projects coming up in the state. Gehlot had called on Jaiswal to seek speedy allocation of few supply for these upcoming power plants.
"The ministry has also taken a note of coal requirement for the Suratgarh power plant (1,250mw) and another unit of the Chhabra plant. Request of the state in this regard will be taken up with the standing committee for power," the official statement said.
