Two women arrested for involvement in sex racket

Two women were arrested for their alleged involvement in a flesh trade racket being operated from a residential complex in southwest Delhi's Dwarka, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, while one of the arrested women, a sex worker, used to keep half the proceeds earned by the girls and women she used to provide her customers, the other was one of her several 'employees'.

"We had received a tip-off that a sex racket was being operated at a house in Dwarka's Sector 19B. A decoy customer was sent to fix a deal," said an officer.

The decoy customer, police claimed, was offered both schoolgirls and models and told that the payment in lieu of the services offered by them ranged from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 50,000.

On interrogation, police claimed, the female kingpin confessed that she dealt with customers personally and became part of the racket to fulfil her financial requirements.

"They are not literate and belong to the middle strata of the society. Initial questioning revealed that they were involved in the racket for just the last six to seven months," the officer said.
