How do the numbers stack up for the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the 545-member Lok Sabha after the Trinamool Congress, which has 19 members, decided to withdraw support?

With the half-way mark being 273, the UPA has 243 members: Congress 205, DMK 18, Nationalist Congress Party 9, Indian Union Muslim League 2, VCK 1, Rashtriya Lok Dal 4, National Conference 3 and Kerala Congress 1.
Another 52 seats are added by parties which support the UPA from the outside: Samajwadi Party 22, Bahujan Samaj Party 21, Rashtriya Janata Dal 4, Janata Dal-Secular 3, AIMM 1 and AIUDF 1. The support of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (2) and MDMK (1) is unclear.
This would give the government 295 members but many of the supporting parties are opposed to the government's decision to permit FDI in retail, hike diesel prices by Rs. 5 a litre and restrict to six the number of subsidised cooking gas cylindes per family per year.
Some of the 9 independents also support the UPA from the outside.
