The Ansal brothers -- Sushil and Gopal -- on Tuesday filed an appeal against a Delhi High Court judgement upholding their conviction in the Uphaar fire tragedy which claimed 59 lives in 1997.

A bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan fixed January 23 to hear their petitions.
The High Court had upheld their conviction in the trial court but had reduced their sentence from two years to one.
