"Vajpayee is in the ICU (intensive care unit) and his breathing is normal. He is fine now and is likely to be discharged in the next few days," said AIIMS Medical Superintendent D K Sharma.
The veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader underwent a tracheotomy surgery for smoother airway management on Feb 14. The next day, he was taken off the ventilator.
