Lawyers representing the family of Aarti Prasad (8), who was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by domestic help Surendra Koli at Nithari, on Wednesday requested a court hearing the case to summon his employer Moninder Singh Pandher as an accused in the case. The court will hear the plea on May 25.

Though both were awarded death by a CBI court on February 13 for the attempted rape and murder of Rimpa Halder (14), Pandher had not been chargesheeted by the CBI in the Prasad case. The chargesheet said Pandher was away when Koli killed Prasad on September 25, 2006.
HT had reported on April 1 the likelihood of Pandher being made an accused, as the court had reserved its verdict in the case and summoned case officer Dinesh Yadav. Yadav’s statement that “a saw was recovered from D-5 9 (the house) at the instance of both Pandher and Koli” had earlier led the conviction of Pandher in the Halder case, though he had not been chargesheeted in that case as well.
