Vinay Nagar Bengali School: 60 years of glorious existence

Started way back in 1952 to provide quality education to children from the Bengali community, the Vinay Nagar Bengali Senior Secondary School in Sarojini Nagar celebrated 60 years of existence this year.

A series of events to celebrate the jubilee, which began two months ago, concluded with a grand finale on Sunday.
One of the main attractions of the show was a musical performance by popular singer, Kavita Krishnamurthy, who also sang a few songs in Bengali. The performance was followed by a show by Palash Sen's Indi rock band, Euphoria.

As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the school has already held a festival of plays, a football championship, a magic show by PC Sorcar Junior, and various competitions. The mega celebrations of the Jubilee were held between November 22 and 25. On Saturday, the cultural evening began with a performance of folk songs by the band Dohar, followed by dance performance by the ballet troupe of National Film award winner Mamata Shankar.
