In an application to a bench of Justices Gita Mittal and VK Shali, Vishal also prodded the court to direct the Tihar director-general for details of prisoners who had paid back the amount expended on their security during the hospital trips. The bench decided to hear the plea on April 13.
The court had earlier asked Vishal to return the money spent by the government on his security during his numerous visits to hospitals from the jail.
“It was the taxpayers’ money the government spent on your security during the visits to hospitals,” the court had told him, asking him to return the money. The court had said it was evident that more than Rs 16 lakh had been spent on security personnel who had accompanied Vikas and Vishal on their 87 trips to various hospitals.
The court was hearing a plea moved by Neelam Katara, Nitish’s mother.
