Woman drugged, robbed of jewellery by women’s gang

In an unusual case of abduction and robbery, a 30-year-old computer professional was abducted and drugged in a car by two women in Delhi.
The women also allegedly robbed the victim of her cash, jewellery and two mobile phones, before dumping her at an isolated place in north Delhi.
The victim, who found herself on a bed in Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital the next day, claimed that the same gang had ransacked her rented house.
The incident reportedly took place a few days back and it came to light after the victim lodged a complaint with the police on Monday, police said.
The complainant, Asma Khan alias Nisha, in her complaint told police that the impact of the sedative administered to her by the women was such that it took her over a week to come out of its influence. She underwent treatment for 10 days before she was discharged.
Suspecting the involvement of an organised gang behind the incident, the crime branch has registered a case.
A senior police officer said Nisha, who works in a private company in Daryaganj and lives alone, was waiting for a three-wheeler to go shopping that day.
"A car driven by a man stopped near her and one of the two women sitting, whom Nisha knew as Poonam, offered to drop her. Nisha did not object since she had met Poonam twice before outside her office and had even taken her to her house once," the officer said.
"Poonam offered Nisha a bottle of cold drink, which was laced with sedatives. Nisha soon fell unconscious. She was made to drink another sedative-laced drink,” the officer said.
The three then took her jewellery, Rs. 5,000 in cash and her two mobile phones before dumping her in north Delhi area. A passer by saw her and informed the police, who in turn admitted her to the hospital," added the officer.
After being discharged, Nisha found that her house was also ransacked and cash and some jewellery were missing.
