As many as 25 Congress legislators — most of them first time winners — have been chosen for the four-day leadership development workshop to be held in a retreat in Gurgaon from August 8 to 11.

The agenda of the workshop has been set after discussions with party leaders and on the responses to a survey circulated among young legislators, a Youth Congress functionary said.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Leadership Institute, set up by Gandhi for holding regular training camps for Youth Congress members, has helped in the design and conduct of the workshop.

Interestingly, the residential camp will include yoga practice in the mornings besides interactive sessions with political leaders and technical resource persons.

"A yoga instructor has been specially hired for the workshop. This is for improving physical, mental and spiritual disciplines," the functionary said.

Gandhi himself has often been seen practicing yoga.
