The BJP is ahead in 210 Uttar Pradesh seats. The SP-Congress combine is ahead in 60 seats and the BSP is leading in 30. The majority mark in the state assembly is 202 seats. In the political bellwether, Uttar Pradesh, regional groups built along caste lines such as the ruling Samajawadi Party and opposition Bahujan Samaj Party are seeking to keep the BJP away from power.
