Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Bellubbi Sangappa Kallappa secured 2,083 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.8%, 46.5% and 1.4% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Makbul S Bagawan beat Janata Dal (Secular)'s Basanagouda R Patil (YATNAL) by 9,380 votes.
