Chickpet is the assembly constituency which comes under the Bangalore district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Chickpet will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
In Karnataka Assembly Election 2018, there were 2,16,834 registered voters for Chickpet assembly seat, out of which 1,11,753 were male and 1,05,070 were female voters. 0.6% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Chickpet constituency had 27 candidates for assembly seat contention. Chickpet was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Uday B.Garudachar won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's R.V.Devraj by a margin of 7,934 votes.
The top two candidates split 83.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Uday B.Garudachar got a total of 57,312 votes, while Indian National Congress's R.V.Devraj secured 49,378 votes. Social Democratic Party Of India's candidate Mujahid Pasha.A secured 11,700 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 44.9%, 38.7% and 9.2% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's R.V. Devraj defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Uday.B.Garudachar by 13,059 votes.
