Yercaud is one of the 232 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Salem district. People of Yercaud voted for Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.
Yercaud assembly constituency had 2,58,758 electors in 2016, out of which 1,28,036 were male voters and 1,30,708 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.2% votes.
In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Yercaud constituency had 13 candidates for assembly seat contention. Yercaud was one of 134 seats won by the Dravida Munetra Kazhagam. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Chitra.G won the election by upstaging Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Tamilselvan.C by a margin of 17,394 votes.
The top two candidates split 83.7% of votes between them. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Chitra.G got a total of 1,00,562 votes, while Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Tamilselvan.C secured 83,168 votes. Pattali Makkal Katchi's candidate Selvam.R secured 17,998 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.8%, 37.9% and 8.2% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Perumal.C defeated Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Tamilselvan.C. by 37,582 votes.
