From entering the dream sequence (Inception), riding a horse in a cowboy get-up (True Grit)to packing a punch(The Fighter), the versatile duo kept the audience at the edge of their seats throughout the evening. The Devil Wears Prada babe changed dresses faster than one could blink eyes. Be it a silver gown or a blue gown, the actress was a vision onstage.
To break the monotony of her shimmer gowns, the hosts changed roles at one point. While Anne, dressed to kill in a black tuxedo, sang a ditty to Hugh Jackman while James had the men go weak in their knees as he came on-stage with blonde hair and pink gown. The 127 Hours actor was at his comic best as he took a jab at Charlie Sheen, "Oh I hear there's a party at Charlie Sheen tonight!" he quipped.
The hunky James Franco was the perfect foil to the chirpy Anne who couldn't stop giggling. Earlier Oscars have seen some funny and uncomfortable moments where stars have taken digs at actors. Last year the Oscar was flavoured with Avatar, wherein hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin spoofed the Naavi people in their not so funny act.
