The day celebrates adoptive families and draws awareness to the 100,000 plus children still in need of adoptive families. The Jolie-Pitt Foundation donated the funds to SOS Children’s Villages-USA, an organization that plays a pivotal role in providing loving, stable homes for foster children whose biological families are unable to properly tend to their needs.

“I am truly thankful that Angelina and Brad understand the power of family – the kind of stable family that SOS holds as an essential part of healthy child development,” Fox News quoted CEO of SOS Children’s Villages, Heather Paul, as saying.

“Angelina and Brad know that children’s need for a family is universal,” Paul added.
