According to contactmusic.com, Hoffman has promised all his children that he will celebrate their 50th birthday. He said: "I have a pact with my kids. My youngest is 21 and I said, 'I want to be there for your 50th birthday', which means I have to be 100."

He added: "I'm not retiring. I'm against the concept. You retire from a job you don't like, but you never retire from your work."
