Taylor Swift’s rumoured boyfriend Matty Healy is the lead singer and guitarist of the British band The 1975. They have known each other for nearly 10 years.

After it was announced that Taylor Swift had broken up with her longtime boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, new reports stated that the singer was dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. Matty appeared at Taylor's Nashville concerts amid her Eras Tour earlier this month. He was seen singing along to her songs from the VIP section and joined opening act Phoebe Bridgers on stage on the second night in Nashville.

Matty is both singer and guitarist in The 1975. The English band also features guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald and drummer George Daniel. The singer is the son of British actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch. His younger brother, Louis Healy, is also an actor. Matty met his band mates at Wilmslow High School in 2002, and they've been together since they were teenagers. He started out playing the drums before moving on to singing and playing the guitar. He occasionally plays the piano on stage as well.

The 34-year-old's antics on stage while performing have often gone viral on social media. He has kissed fellow performers and fans on stage, eaten raw meat and even appeared to do a Nazi salute on stage during a recent performance this year.

The 1975 did work with Taylor on Midnights, her 10th studio album, which was released in October 2022. But he later revealed in an interview that the stuff they worked on, never made it to the album. In September 2022, he also shared that the band turned down an offer to open for Ed Sheeran on a four-month tour. He told The New York Times, "I tend to say no to stuff for money."

Both The 1975 and Taylor have the same music producer Jack Antonoff who has worked on their previous music albums. According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, the music producer, who is also the lead singer of the band Bleachers, reportedly 'reconnected' the pair last month.

Taylor and Matty have known each other for nearly a decade. They were briefly linked together when they met, but Matty denied any romantic relationship between them. In January 2023, Taylor surprised fans by making a surprise appearance at The 1975's concert in The O2 in London and performed the first live performance of Anti-Hero from Midnights. She also covered the 1975's song The City.
