AB, Hrithik, SRK storm the ramp

When Hrithik Roshan and Big B walked towards a seated Shah Rukh Khan, and pulled him onto the ramp, that’s when they brought the house down.

It was that rare moment when fashion created history. When actor Hrithik Roshan opened Karan Johar and Varun Bahl’s Couture Week show, the audience cheered. When the curtains at the entrance of the ramp parted to reveal Amitabh Bachchan, powerfully enigmatic in dark glasses and a coat, the crowd went wild. But when the two actors walked towards a seated Shah Rukh Khan, and pulled him onto the ramp, that’s when they brought the house down. On Khan’s suggestion, the trio even proceeded to perform their own signature steps for the audience.



Despite pulling off the magnum opus, Karan Johar didn’t look like he could believe it. When asked how he manages to keep besting himself, a visibly exhausted Johar explains, "It’s not just about upping the ante from the last time. I can ask these people to walk for my show because they’re like family. I feel incredibly comfortable with them so there is no hesitation."

Explaining his choice of showstopper this time, Johar says, "Amitabh Bachchan is the most stylish man in the industry and I saw no reason why he couldn’t be on ramp."



He revealed that Bahl had offered some last minute tips to the stars before they hit the ramp. "Varun is a veteran in this field. His one rule was that they couldn’t smile and wave to family while walking."

So was he upset that they pulled Khan onto the stage? Johar grins, “Not at all. Once you’ve done your job as a model, you can take your place as a member of the industry.”
